NIASSA REGION, MOZAMBIQUE
15 Day 4x4 and Walking Safari Expedition

Explore the last true surviving wilderness area in Africa by foot and 4x4

In October 2024, we are setting off to explore Niassa region. It is said to be the last surviving true wilderness area in Africa: with indigenous tribes, the second largest lion and leopard populations in the world, and the largest number of wilddog. As well as the usual plains game and birdlife typical to savannah areas.

For an area the size of Wales the road network is very limited with a couple of main tracks leading to Mt Mecula in the centre, and an uncharted network of bush tracks developed and used on occasion by professional hunting expeditions.
We will travel there from Harare and back via Lilongwe, using a number of hunting camps as base to explore the area (which has varied rivers, mountain ranges and habitats) by foot, 4x4 and possibly canoe. With a total trip duration of 2 weeks.
If you would like to join us exploring this largely uncharted expanse in Northern Mozambique, please get in touch.
